The Spotted Hare is finished

 Where does the time go???
We were just talking about the daffodils coming up and the next thing you know Taylor and I are coloring Easter eggs.
I'm not complaining....we've had a beautiful Spring for sure and Easter is my very favorite holiday.
I think that might have something to do with the chocolate bunnies : )

Let me tell you about the new Pattern I just released and then I'll tell you what I've been up to.

Here is the Spotted Hare Pinkeep Drum & Velveteen Carrots

This was first done for Willows & Early Blooms at Country Sampler last Spring.  I made just a few changes and now it's  available as a Pattern for everyone.
The little Spotted Hare is so sweet....and there is also a wreath with the date 1820 and a flower basket full of lilies and tiny blue flowers stitched on 32 count linen.

The Pinkeep Drum measures about 5" high by 3 1/4" in diameter.

And check out these little velveteen carrots....they have been nicely worn and aged.
The Pattern includes all the instructions to stitch and finish the Pinkeep Drum and how to make and finish these sweet little carrots.
I just listed this sweet little Pattern on eBay and next I'll get it on my website.
If you'd like to have one just send me an email and I'll happily get it in the mail right away.

Well friends....I've been in a funk.
It really has a hold on me and I've had the hardest time shaking it.
My babies are growing up and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Michael will be graduating from high school next month.
We've been planning his party and talking about college.
I can't wait for the party.....we're having a combined party with lots of his friends at a reception hall.
I'm so excited for him....but I know I'm going to be a hot mess.
I've known his friends since grade school and it's so fun to see them all grown up now......but unfortunately it's not going to stop me from crying and embarrassing him : )

And Taylor is graduating from Kindergarten and next year she'll be going to a big school.
I know she's ready and she'll make lots of new friends.  I'll be the one crying on her first day of school.
Watching her reminds me so much of Michael.....I remember his first day at Kindergarten and First Grade....and now he's graduating.
It boggles my mind how fast it's flown by.
I think that's what upsets me more than anything.....how fast it's gone.
In the blink of an eye we'll be planning Taylor's graduation.
Geez...I'm such a baby....just reading this makes me cry.

I really want to enjoy this time so I'm pulling up my big girl panties and getting my act together.
I know stitching is going to help me so I hope to have lots of new things out for you to see.

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted last.
I'm so sorry about that.
Stitching and keeping in touch with you is going to get me back on my feet.

Kindly,
 Stacy

Well. Now you've made me cry too. My elder is graduating from middle school--she spent the last few days writing her grad speech--and younger is only a few years behind his sister. Soon they'll both kick me to the curb and be off on their own. Glad to spread a little sunshine :)

Hi Stacy,
My babies are in their 30's! Now it's time for the grandbabies! As fast as time has flown by soon in the blink of an eye you will be rocking your grandchildren. Circle of life, my friend. Mary

My boys are 11 and 4 and the years just go too fast. I'm still trying to hold time in a bottle.

Beautiful stitching pics!

Oh, Stacy! I know what you mean!!!My oldest, Taylor, will turn 21 in June...Then my other, Luke, will start preschool in August...Where has time gone that my Luke is already 4 to be 5 in November????...And to have my daughter in tech school making plans to move away after she graduates..There is no market here for what she wants to do in graphic arts...Time goes tooo fast, but at least we both will have one at home for a long while....It helps soothe the heart!!!~~hugs,Jen

I have to emerge from lurkdom to send some huge mama hugs your way. I look at my brood and just shudder at the thought of how fast they are all growing up and away. Though it's our job as mothers to help them become independent, it's awfully hard on the heartstrings.

Your new pattern is so perfect that I have to go order it now.

Hi Stacy,
Our two oldest just got their first place together two weeks ago. I thought, "no problem", until the U-haul pulled away from the house in the early morning light...I stood outside in my bathrobe & cried like a ninny. :)
We know it's coming, but somehow it still sneaks up on us, doesn't it?
Stitching helps, and the quiet is nice...sometimes. Be strong-you are not alone!

Lovely new works.

One of my favorite quotes about life and children is from the movie "My Neighbors the Yamadas". An old woman gives this exhortation to the young couple at their wedding banquet.

Really, all of it is wisdom, but especially I like the bit about children and their growth. It is saying that they will be fine no matter what, so be with them while you can. You can rest easy because you are investing in events like special parties and egg coloring that develop memories and relationships that last a lifetime.

I am still in my 20's and have no children, but this is what I think. Congrats on these awesome milestones your family is celebrating!

Hi can understand you so well, our first, which is a girl, is turning on 26 and our son is 20, both of them lived out of the house for studing. The nest is empty most part of the year. We're only two now: my husband and i.Life is like that!
Your latest design is really lovely.
Happy Easter to all of you!!Niky.

It's so true Stacy they grow up so fast, my first grandson will be 17 this year, so see it doesn't even slow down for grandchildren.
I will say that it isn't as hard after you get through the change as it is before the change. :)
I love your new pattern and I am just learning to cross stitch so I hope totake a class with you at PMW. Enjoy your celebrations, they are the best.

I completely understand your tidewave of emotions!! My oldest son graduated last year. I had to keep his cap & gown hanging in the living room so I could try to get used to the reality of it all. We do our jobs as moms to raise our children into fine adults & rejoice in their growth but it really hurts to let go of that little hand that used to reach for yours & the soft voice that changes from mommy to mom....Let the tears come, they are just a part of the celebration!! Good luck!! ~Kriss~

Stacy, thank you for sharing with us! I have three wonderful children ages 21, 16 and 9. I'm not really old enough to have a 21 year old. I don't know how that happened?! It does go fast, but I wouldn't change my journey with them for a minute. All of them have different strengths and talents and it is amazing to watch them grow. I've shed many tears, both in joy and sorrow, at how fast it's gone. I'm sending you a big hug!!
