Alive and kickin'

I know it seems as if I've dropped off the planet but I'm still alive and kickin'.  It seems like so long since I've had a chance to visit.  And I was looking back at my last post and I just have to laugh.  I talked about my Grandma's birthday party.....well that was lots of fun and then things went down hill pretty fast.  She's 95 ya know and I don't think she expected to be around this long.  She's having a pretty rough time right now and we're all pretty drained.  My poor Mom is taking the brunt of the stress.  We all love Grandma dearly and we pray she finds happiness.

I had a little get-away in Spring Green last week and it was so much fun.  I got to teach with my BFF Maggie Bonanomi and I get to see her again next week in Lee's Summit......woo hoo
She has a new book coming out soon and I got to see all the sweet little projects.  I ordered a book from Country Sampler and I can't wait to get it in my hot little hands.

And I have a book coming out in September....can you believe it??!!  It will be published by Kansas City Star.....they are branching out to cross-stitch and I'm thrilled to work with them.  I've been busy busy working on fun little projects and the photo shoot will be next week.  Oh my goodness.....I get to do a photo shoot : )  I'm bringing Mom along for a little fun.....she certainly deserves it.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the start of many books to come.  Believe me.....my poor little head is full of ideas!!

This is a Brand New Patterns that I'm just getting ready to release
~Wool & Flax Pocket Roll~
It was so much fun to stitch and I've just fallen in love with it.
The outside of the Pocket Roll is pieces of old blue cotton prints pieced together.  This is my lame attempt at a quilt : )
And since I'm a fabric hoarder I don't throw anything away.....even the tiny scraps.  So this was a great way to use some of those little pieces I have laying around.
The piecing was surprisingly simple....maybe I'll try a big quilt one of these days.....or I'll just beg one of my friends to do it for me : )

I love love this sweet little sampler.

She seeketh wool and flax
and worketh willingly
with her hands

I just stitched the words and the rest of the sampler built itself.
That's the way I like to do it....I start with one little piece and it comes to life as I stitch.

This sweet little pattern is $14. and available on my website.  Or just email me if you'd like to have a copy.

Happy Stitching

Stacy

I just love love your new (old-worldly) sampler. I am currently working on my own sampler. I am using some aspects of my mum's old sampler's, in it and adding some things that are of interest to myself. It is lots of fun.
By-the-bye- What fabric did you used, and what threads would you recommend?
Kind Regards

Hi Stacy,
I don't think my emails, regarding my Valentine postcard order, have been getting through to you. Would it be possible for you to check your spam folder to see if my emails to you are in there?
You may contact me at wicks1822@ameritech.net
